  • The Chargers have lost three straight coming into Sunday.  The Bengals have won three straight coming into Sunday. San Diego is 1-6 in their last seven games coming into Sunday.
  • For what it’s worth…Norv Turner is 18-3 in December as Chargers head coach.
  • The Bengals offense has come away with points on each of its 13 trips to the red zone over the last three games, including a perfect five-for-five (four TDs, one FG) last week vs. Oakland. Eleven of the last 13 offensive trips to the red zone have resulted in TDs.
  • Andy Dalton’s three-game numbers were 55-for-89 (61.8 percent) for 639 yards with nine TDs and no INTs.  And a 3-0 record.
  • BenJarvus Green-Ellis went 25-for-101  yards on Nov. 18 at Kansas City and 19-for-129 yards last week vs. Oakland. With 767 yards on the season, Green-Ellis is on pace for a career-high 1116 yards, topping his 1008 with New England in 2010.
  • The 2001 Bengals set the franchise record for sacks, with 48, but this year’s team is on pace to better that. The 2012 Bengals have 35 sacks in 10 games, an average of 3.18 per contest, and that projects to 51 over 16 games (rounded up from an actual projection of 50.9).
  • The Bengals are 3-1 since Marvin Lewis called out Dalton and Maualuga to lead and while Dalton has racked up a 117.2 passer rating in the last three games, the defense has risen to No. 9 in the NFL.
  • Antonio Gates (80 career touchdown catches), needs one more to tie Lance Alworth’s team record of 81.
  • San Diego’s offense took care of the football against the Ravens, not committing a turnover for the second time this season. However, they managed to score just 13 points and converted only 3-of-15 third downs.
  • After leaving San Diego (the Chargers released him in October to make room for CB Cris Carr), Michael Spurlock signed with the Jaguars. Earlier this week, Jacksonville waived him and the Chargers were quick to claim him. Spurlock can help the Chargers in a multitude of ways, as a backup receiver and most especially as a returner in both the kicking and punting game which is where he expects to make the most immediate contribution
  • Chargers ILB Takeo Spikes was a first-round pick (13th overall) of the Bengals in 1998 and played for Cincinnati from ’98-2002.
  • After four teams, 23 special teams tackles, two trick plays that jump-started road wins,  the Bengals Cedric Peerman has finally become part of a NFL game plan. He came into the last three games with 12 NFL carries and 22 runs later his 157 yards helped grease a three-game winning streak.  Pro Football Focus.com noticed in its report off the Oakland win: “Peerman…had an Elusive Rating of 306.3, with four missed tackles and an average of 6.13 yards after contact on just eight carries.”
  • Bengals center Trevor Robinson played his whole career at Notre Dame at guard, but he has started at center for the Bengals the last four games.  According to Pro Football Focus, Robinson has allowed three quarterback hits, one hurry, and zero sacks in his four starts
  • Bengals WR Mohamed Sanu was limited in practice Thursday with a foot injury, and will be reevaluated.
