COWBOYS (3-5) AT EAGLES (3-5)

By Football Night in America’s Eliott Kalb
  • The Cowboys and Eagles have both lost four of five games, with the latter losing four straight. A Cowboys win would keep Dallas from losing three straight games for the first time since 2010.
  • The Cowboys and Eagles lead the NFC in giveaways and own the worst turnover differentials in the conference at minus-11 and minus-nine, respectively.
  • Both teams have turned the ball over 19 times.
  • The Eagles’ run defense, which played so well in the first four games, has fallen off the map the last four games. The Eagles held their first four opponents to 91.5 rushing yards per game and 3.8 yards per carry. In the last four games, they’ve given up 137 yards per game and 4.6 yards per carry.
  • The Cowboys average the 26th most points in the league per game (18.8), while the Eagles are tied for 29th in scoring offense per game (16.6).
  • Vick was sacked a season-high seven times in Monday night’s 28-13 loss to the Saints, including three times on blitzes. He was blitzed on 15 pass plays in the game and completed only four of 12 passes for 96 yards, one touchdown and one interception when the Saints sent extra rushers.
  • In the last two games, he’s only 10-for-27 against the blitz.
  • “I’ve never played behind a line that’s had so many guys in and out,” Vick said of a unit that lost yet another starter for the season Wednesday when right tackle Todd Herremans was placed on injured reserve with a broken foot.
  • When they play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, the Eagles likely will start Demetress Bell at left tackle, Evan Mathis at left guard, Dallas Reynolds at center, Dennis Kelly at right guard, and King Dunlap at right tackle. Only Mathis was supposed to start this season, and only Bell and Mathis are playing their natural side and position.
  • Tackles Todd Herremans (foot) and Jason Peters (Achilles tendon), guard Danny Watkins (ankle), and center Jason Kelce (knee) are sidelined by injuries.
  • The Cowboys move DeMarcus Ware around, even though he is listed at right outside linebacker. Ware rushes 67.4 percent of the time from the right side and 22.9 percent from the left, so he might threaten both Bell and Dunlap
  • DeMarco Murray injured his foot in the first half of the team’s loss to Baltimore on Oct. 14. He came back to run the ball once in the second half before his day came to an end. Murray hasn’t played since. He’s not expected to practice this week and should miss his fourth consecutive game.
  • The Cowboys have averaged just 56.3 yards a game on the ground during Murray’s absence.
  • Dallas offensive tackles Tyron Smith and Doug Free are going to have their hands full on Sunday. Smith will be matched up primarily with Cole, who has played on the right side of the Eagles’ defense on 98.2 percent of his snaps, leaving Free to battle with Babin.
  • Jonathan Bales, who writes for the Cowboys blog Blue Star.com, believes the Eagles pass rush may have an edge over the Cowboys’ offensive line and pass-pro this Sunday.”Normally, I choose one pass-rusher as the primary defender on which to focus, but the Eagles really have three outstanding pass-rushing options on the outside. Starters Trent Cole and Jason Babin can be terrors when rushing the quarterback, and third-year player Brandon Graham is finally coming into his own.”

No one better for the eagles to ditch this slump against than the Cowboys
